Zombie Season #1 by Justin Weinberger
This zombie story is full of intrigue, adventure, and humor. Told from the perspectives of three kids from the same town: one goes out after the Twilight Warning to search for his missing father, and the other is trying to make amends for his failed zombie experiment. I and the last child were forced by our parents to run away. When their stories converge, it’s after one meets a sentient zombie and the other sees a giant, seemingly unstoppable mutant zombie. The hoard is growing and attacking with plans – and it doesn’t look good for humans.
Bite Risk by S.J. Wells
One of the MOST EXCITING first chapters I’ve ever read!! We are dropped into a city where children lock up adults and teenagers turned into “Rippers,” carrying tranquilizer guns in case one of them escapes. Ansel “Sel” and his best friend Elena often play cards during their long nights babysitting with an old man, one of the only adults who hasn’t turned into the Ripper.
