Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Goldilocks who lived in a house at the edge of the forest. In those days, curls were called “locks”. She is “Goldilocks” because of her long blonde hair that goes down to her head and shoulders.

One morning, Goldilocks was walking when he came across a beautiful bird. She followed that bird straight into the woods, where her mother had repeatedly told her she should never go. But Goldilocks didn’t think about that.

She went deeper into the forest. But where is the bird? It is nowhere to be seen. Goldilocks looked around. That’s when she knew she was lost.

But there is a house not far away. “I wonder who lives there,” she thought, “deep in the woods.”

She went up and knocked on the door. No answer. She knocked on the door again. Still no answer. Goldilocks hit a third time, and the door opened. But there was no one behind the door.

“Oh, the door is open,” the girl said. “Then I can go in too.”

“I may as well go in.”

Goldilocks smelled a wonderful smell and quickly knew why. On the table were three steaming bowls of oatmeal. Suddenly, she realized how hungry she was.

However, what Goldilocks didn’t know was that three bears were living in the house. That very morning, the three bears sat down to a bowl of oatmeal, but the cereal was too hot. So they decided to take a short walk. They said to each other, “When we return home, our oatmeal will be perfect.”

Looking at the steaming bowls of oatmeal, Goldilocks thought, “I’m sure whoever lives here won’t mind if I just take a sip.” She sat down on the first chair and took a sip. “Ah!” she said, “it’s so hot.”

She moved to the next bowl and took a sip. “Ah!” she said, “it’s too cold.”

She moved to the third bowl and took a sip. “It’s just right!” And before she knew it, the oatmeal was gone.

Goldilocks rubbed his belly. “I’m full! I have to find somewhere more comfortable to sit.”

She went into the living room. Three chairs are arranged in a row – an oversized chair, a medium-sized chair, and a small chair.

Three chairs were lined up in a row.

“I’m sure whoever lives here wouldn’t mind if I just sat in a chair,” Goldilocks said. She sat on the big chair, but it was too hard.

“The next chair looks nice,” Goldilocks said. She switched to a medium-sized chair, but it was too soft.

The girl said: “The small chair looks better.” She sat on the little chair, and it was just right! But when Goldilocks leaned back a little, the chair broke into a dozen pieces. She immediately fell to the floor.

“Oh no!” Goldilocks groaned. Then she yawned. There had to be somewhere where she could lie down and take a nap.

“Oh no!” Goldilocks groaned.

The girl saw a ladder and climbed into the attic. In a row, three beds are lined up – a large bed, a medium-sized bed, and a small bed.

“I’m sure whoever lives here won’t mind if I lie down and take a nap,” she said. She lay down on the big bed, but it was too hard. She lay down on the medium-sized bed, but it was too soft. The girl lay down on the little bed, and it was just right! By the time her head hit the pillow, Goldilocks was fast asleep.

At that moment, three bears came back from their walk. “Oh my God!” Mother Bear said. “Did any of you leave the front door open?”

At that moment, three bears came back from their walk.

“Not I,” said Papa Bear.
“Not I,” said Little Bear.

The three bears slowly walked inside and looked around.

“The strangest!” Papa Bear said when he saw his spoon in the bowl. “Someone ate my oatmeal!”

“Truly the strangest!” Mother Bear said and also saw the spoon in her bowl. “Someone ate my oatmeal!”

“This is the strangest thing!” Little Bear said. “Someone ate all my oatmeal, and they ate it all!”

“This is the strangest thing!” Little Bear said.

The three bears were very surprised, as you can imagine. Carefully, they entered the living room.

“Do you think someone is sitting in my chair?” Dad Bear said.

“I know someone is sitting in my chair,” said Mother Bear, “because I can see the seat cushion pushed down.”

“And I know someone is sitting in my chair!” Little Bear said. “Because it’s all broken!”

The three bears were even more surprised about that! They climbed the stairs to their attic.

“Someone is sleeping in my bed,” said Father Bear, who could see that his blanket had moved.

“Someone is sleeping in my bed, too,” said Mother Bear, who could also see that her blanket had moved.

“Someone is sleeping in my bed,” Little Bear said. “And look – she’s still there!”

Goldilocks woke up. The three bears were looking vaguely at her, and they didn’t look happy at all.

“Oh my God!” Goldilocks said and jumped out of bed. As quickly as she could, she climbed the ladder and ran out the front door.

Little Bear chased her. “Please wait!”

Goldilocks stopped and turned around.

“Tell me,” said Little Bear, “Why did you come into our house?”

Goldilocks stopped and turned around.

“I guess I didn’t think–,” Goldilocks said.

“And why are you eating my oatmeal?” Little Bear said.

“Well, I guess I wasn’t thinking–,” Goldilocks said.

“And why are you smashing my chair and sleeping in my bed?” Little Bear said.

“Well, I guess I hadn’t thought of that either,” Goldilocks said.

They were silent.

Goldilocks said, “I suppose I could have waited outside your door.”

“We’re almost home,” said Mother Bear. “We might have invited you in if we knew you were hungry.”

“We might have invited you in.”

“I’m sorry about the chair,” Goldilocks said. “I guess you saw it break.”

“Yes,” said Mother Bear with a frown.

“I’m good at fixing things,” Goldilocks said, “If you’ve got glue.”

“Of course we have glue!” Dad Bear said. “What kind of bears do you think we are?”

“I will compensate you!” Goldilocks said.

“Come in, dear,” said Mother Bear.

“We’ll start again,” said Father Bear, nodding.

“Enter!” Little Bear said and jumped up and down.

With smiles, they jumped into the Bear’s house together.
