4 expression of children’s emotional intelligence.

4 expression of children’s emotional intelligence.

1. Know how to share, sympathize.

A child with emotional intelligence will display an open mind. Use stories, movies, and books about characters who overcome difficult circumstances. Then ask questions about the characters in the story to implicitly encourage them to think about other people’s feelings. Teaching children empathy and understanding the feelings of others will help limit apathy in society.

2. Stop and think.

All emotional experiences are very new when we are young. Any child can “explode” due to having to deal with too many emotions, or the intensity of emotions is too great. One of the hallmarks of children with emotional intelligence is knowing how to pause to process their own emotions before reacting. Each time your child learns to control his emotions, reward him/her. Do this to help your child distinguish emotions, especially when it comes to anger.

3. Listen more.

Children with high EQ are often the most “requested” children because children know how to listen to assess problems and calmly find solutions. This trait can manifest very early. Have you ever felt that a child thinks and acts somewhat “older”, and more thoughtful than other children of the same age? Children who can listen at an early age learn more. Listening is a sign of a smart child.

4. Don’t scream when angry.

A common undesirable problem when teaching children is that children often scream when angry or unhappy. The most common cause is that children do not know how to listen. But it is difficult to teach children to stop, listen, and think because, for young minds, it is very difficult to convey that in words. First of all, set an example for children, and limit children to hearing or seeing arguments of adults. When your child is angry, you can’t set an example for him if you’re also exploding like a child. Stay calm and say to your child, “I see you’re getting a little angry. You calm down.”
